Nfl Tickets - Lt And Mcnabb Head To New Teams, Unforeseen Futures

With a series of premier players in the NFL being released or traded this offseason already, a group of potential hall-of-famers enter the twilight of their careers wearing uniforms they used to call the enemy. Though no one was very surprised, LaDainian Tomlinson was the first to go, as he was cut by the San Diego Chargers before they had to pay him a sizeable bonus. After being a staple with the Philadelphia Eagles for a decade, perennial Pro Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb was also recently traded to the Washington Redskins, a team that plays the Eagles twice a year. Other prominent players like Thomas Jones and Julius Peppers also head to new teams with unsure futures. Which ones will have the best chance of succeeding in a new city?

The obvious answer seems to be Julius Peppers, who at age 30 is still in his prime and just signed a $91.5 million deal with the Chicago Bears that spans six years. Peppers is an elite talent at defensive end and should fit in nicely with the hardnosed style of the Chicago Bears. The Bears still appear to be towards the bottom of the division in terms of overall talent, however, as the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are definitely expected to do big things in 2010. Peppers has also had a questionable commitment to football, despite his unbelievable natural ability, and many fear that he will remain a good player without ascending to the levels of greatness worthy of his talent.

One player whose commitment has rarely been challenged is LaDainian Tomlinson, who signed with the New York Jets after the Chargers cut him loose. The Jets had an interesting offseason in releasing Thomas Jones, who came off a career season, and replacing him with a running back virtually the same age. Tomlinson's numbers have declined sharply in recent years but he will be running behind one of the top lines in the league without having to carry the load completely. Shonn Greene enters his second season in the league and should get lots of carries as well. LT has plenty to prove and the Jets are likely to stick to the run with young quarterback Mark Sanchez calling the signals. With the Jets likely to challenge for a playoff spot in 2010, LT is in a good position to remain a viable running back for at least a couple more seasons, though Jets fans need to be wary of him wearing down even further due to the incredible amount of touches he received in his early years with the Chargers.

Donovan McNabb, on the other hand, hasn't seen much overall decline in his game in recent years. After McNabb once again went to the Pro Bowl last season, the Washington Redskins were eager to trade for him in the weeks before the NFL Draft. The problem for McNabb, however, is that he will not have the same level of talent surrounding him as he did in Philly and he no longer can scramble like he did early on in his career. McNabb will have a nice opportunity to stick it to the Eagles, though, which brings its own perks, and McNabb has been outperforming expectations since early in his career, when he was soundly booed by Eagles fans when Philly took him number two overall in the 1999 draft. Either way, he certainly will help sell NFL tickets for the Redskins, which will make owner Dan Snyder happy.

Coming off a career-best 1,402 rushing yards in 2009, it seems that Thomas Jones still has plenty in his tank, which makes the Jets' move to cut him somewhat bizarre. Chiefs fans shouldn't expect him to put up the same level of production as he did behind a great line in New York, but he will still be an excellent complement to emerging star Jamaal Charles.

While Jones and McNabb certainly should have an impact, the biggest impact player to change squads is likely Anquan Boldin, who was traded to the Baltimore Ravens. With Joe Flacco, Derrick Mason and Boldin, the Ravens now have a solid trio for their passing game that will only improve the effectiveness of Ray Rice, one of the premier running backs in the league. Considering the Ravens still have a strong defense, they appear to have an offense to match due to the Boldin trade, and Boldin seems eager to make his mark as a number one wide receiver, something he always wanted in Arizona.

Baltimore Ravens Tickets And Seating Chart

It has been nothing short of an interesting season for the Baltimore Ravens this year. From the first game in Week 1 against the Chiefs where they took home a victory 38-24 to Week 17 when the Ravens took home a win against the Raiders on the Raiders own territory 21-13. The Ravens are entering their sixth playoff of the decade. The victories at the start of the season tallied three and it showed that this phenomenal team is capable of doing great things. The numbers speak in agreement with the consensus, especially when the Ravens took down the Lions 48-3 and the Bears 31-7 without so much as a backward glance.

The Divisional Playoff has the Ravens, who are 10-7 taking on the Indianapolis Colts, who are 14-2 at Indianapolis on Saturday, January 16. The last time the Ravens played the Colts, they were at their own house and the Colts snuck a few points by the Ravens for a win over the Ravens 17-15. Critics argue that the Ravens have cards stacked against them because they are 0-4 on the road against the Colts. This doesn't mean the Ravens can't change the tide but only time will tell. The injury report for the Ravens for Saturday's game include CB Cary Williams, LB Tavares Gooden (knee), TE Todd Heap (back), WR Derrick Mason (hand) and S Ed Reed (groin/foot). The injury list for the Colts is quite a bit longer as the playoff approaches but many players are probable to play.

Fans can continue to enjoy Purple Friday as the Ravens expand these events for the playoff. In conjunction with Miller Lite, the Ravens will continue their day-long traveling caravan events where fans can meet Ravens cheerleaders, front office staff, Poe the team mascot, Rise and Conquer the live mascots, playmakers and many others.
